Robotic Partial Knee Surgery uses an advanced computer program that relays precise information about your knee to a robotic assisted device used by the surgeon during the procedure. By collecting specific information about your knee, the surgeon can remove the damaged surfaces of your knee and position the implant with great precision.

What can robotic assisted partial knee replacement MAY mean for you*?

The NAVIO system doesn't replace your surgeon. Rather, it assists your surgeon by adding an extra layer of planning to the procedure.
Knee replacement surgery can be either partial knee resurfacing and or total knee replacement. If a Total Knee Replacement surgery is  chosen, all three compartments of the knee are diseased. In this procedure, all three compartments of the knee are replaced.  Total Knee Replacement is not always best for patients who may have arthritis in only one or two compartments of the knee. Partial knee replacement involves resurfacing the inner portion of the knee. The choice on how much of the knee to replace or resurface is made on an individual basis.

Partial knee resurfacing is a less invasive surgical treatment option for adults with OA. Only the diseased portions of the bone and cartilage are removed and resurfaced while preserving the healthy structures.
The benefits of Partial Knee Resurfacing Include:
  • a minimally invasive incision
  • may be performed on an outpatient basis
  • a shorter stay
  • more rapid recovery
Robotic Arm Assisted Partial Knee Resurfacing may be the right solution for you.

During the procedure, only the diseased portion of the knee is resurfaced. The partial knee implant is placed in the joint using the robotic Partial Knee Resurfacing arm.
